We’ve all be there. Staring at Pinterest, browsing aimlessly (using up the time we don’t have) through photos of bloggers and celebrities. Let me guess, you were previously under the impression that “overalls” and “graphic T-shirts” fell under the category of “out of style.” Who knew that they would be such a hit now? Well, here they are! If you were a child of the ‘90s, you were definitely dressed in colorful, textured overalls at least once a week. Truth be told, overalls have come a long way since the Mary Kate and Ashley days. Better late than never, right?
Overalls are without a doubt one of the hottest trends right now, but we need to know how to wear and rock them without looking like a farmer. There are really no limits on how to style them, but try and ask yourself these questions first; are they leather or denim? Long or short? Dark or light? Flare or skinny? I think the easiest way to nail the look is to treat them like dresses, except for the part that you have to wear a top underneath.
If you didn’t think this trend would ever come back, just wait, it gets better. Graphic T-shirts are back. With weather fluctuating nonstop during the fall season, it is impossible to find just the right outfit to have on the entire day. You can never go wrong with a graphic T-shirt. I don’t mean a graphic T-shirt from middle school awkward days, but today’s graphic T-shirts with cool and hip imagery. Pick something you can relate to and that speaks to you. If your favorite band is Kiss, grab a vintage T-shirt and rock it (no pun intended). Layering one underneath a pair of overalls will add more chicness or that hipster, grungy vibe to your outfit. It looks even better if you leave one strap unbuttoned!
My current favorite trends are all featured in this outfit, which is perfect for that awkward end-of-summer transition back to school, or even those weird days in fall when the weather is acting crazy. With the ‘90s trends coming back in style, these two clothing items are a must-have.
This Fashionista styled her overalls fabulously. Her medium-washed denim overalls were transformed into an everyday comfortable, but trendy and grungy look. She paired them with a lightly washed out vintage Rolling Stones graphic T-shirt. To complete the look, she kept things simple with her leather platform sneakers. Also, to jazz the outfit up a bit, she added in her Ray-Ban circle sunglasses, a plain and simple velvet choker, and, of course, a faux fur beanie. This outfit does not take much effort to achieve so it can be perfect for class, a casual day, or even roaming the city and grabbing lunch with your girls!
