History tends to repeat itself. This saying definitely holds true in the fashion world. We sometimes think that we are starting new trends, but we are really wearing styles that have been recycled. The trends and styles this summer are heavily influenced by the styles of the 1970s. Whether it is a jumpsuit, romper or wide-legged pants, you can rock any ’70s look, even if it is 2015.
One of my favorite trends this summer is the versatile romper. Rompers can have a very casual look, but you can also dress them up. Although they make going to the bathroom a very difficult task, rompers are still very comfortable and flattering. Some may even argue that they are the most popular item of 2015.
This Fashionista is wearing a black romper from LOFT. She modernizes this ’70s look with a large statement necklace from Francesca’s. By pairing the colorful necklace with the simple romper, this outfit looks very polished and put together. With Alex and Ani gold bracelets and fun flip-flops, this Fashionista is ready for summer.
But what if you are unsure of wearing a romper? A trick to make sure that your romper is flattering is to make sure that it is pleated at the smallest part of your waist. And you can not go wrong with sandals or wedges to complete the look.
What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Your outfit should make you feel comfortable, yet stylish. My go-to is rompers because they are simple and very trendy this summer. Don’t be afraid to add a statement piece either!”
