“And who are you wearing tonight, Miss Gracie Meier?”
“Well Levi, the shoes are mine, the jacket belongs to me, the buttons are also mine and…”
Hold the phone, everyone. I know exactly what you’re thinking. You’re asking yourself, who doesn’t know their designers? You’re thinking that this Fashionista is out of her mind! And she very well may be, but at least she’s got one thing right…
Fashion is all about personality, individuality and confidence. Luckily, this Fashionista has all three and knows how to wear them. She may have misinterpreted the standard red-carpet question, but boy does she put fashion into perspective.
So often we as young people are bombarded by branding day in and day out via social media accounts, celebrity sightings and mainstream media. This constant barrage of branding, while inspiring, can sometimes lead one to abandon all notion of self in order to meet the fashion “standards” seen in all forms of multimedia today. With the help of this Fashionista, I was reminded that fashion should not only be trendy but uniquely individual.
Here Miss Meier is rocking a pair of worn-in Converse kicks that somehow seem to never go out of style–not that anyone’s asking them to. With scuffs and skid marks, these high-tops prove that grunge isn’t going anywhere.
Speaking of going places… While walking the streets in Chicago’s fluctuating fall weather, layers are almost essential. This gorgeous gal made a smart choice by doubling up her ensemble. With a cute and cozy cowl-necked hoodie complete with rose-gold detailing, a classic denim jacket and a few trendy pins to add that additional touch of personality, Gracie is ready to hit the streets and show the world a brand all her own.
