As New York Fashion Week has passed and Paris Fashion Week just wrapped up yesterday, we are all beginning to see a dramatic switch in the world of fashion. The fashion realm has been dominated by minimalistic styles for the past couple of seasons, however, the fall collections of the recent fashion weeks have introduced an abundance of color and patterns to the fashion world.
With that said, color is difficult for some people to incorporate into their wardrobe. Not everyone feels comfortable mixing and matching like Gucci, and not everyone can rock patterns and accessories like Dolce & Gabbana. Even though every day life isn’t a runway show, a true Fashionista/o shows acceptance of current trends and incorporates it into their daily life. This featured Fashionisto does exactly that. This colorful and casual shirt brings subtle brightness into his outfit that isn’t overpowering or too bold for a simple day in class.
This Fashionisto has shown his creative side through his DIY jorts. While working on a painting project, he found that the mistakenly made paint splatters created an aesthetically pleasing effect and accent to his originally normal jeans. He then decided to cut the jeans to make them more realistic and more wearable in the hot Texas heat. This style is finished off with a pair of classic Vans. The simple black and white shoe keeps this outfit from being too bold and too over the top for campus style.
Color is an amazing thing and can sometimes provide difficulties for those trying to incorporate it into their daily wardrobe. My advice to all of you is to not be afraid! Fashion is the act of expressing yourself through clothes. You have the opportunity to turn regular clothes into a masterpiece of an outfit, so take advantage of this daily challenge and create some colorful works of art!
