Sweaters are a must-have winter staple. Alone, layered, thin or thick, they are everywhere this season and for good reason. The different textures, fits and colors are bringing a bit of excitement to the Illinois campus. This Fashionista puts a fun spin on this season’s hottest staple. Will you do the same?
Sweaters used to come in very few styles which hardly ever strayed from the classic cable knit, but now sweaters are making a huge statement this season with people sporting many variations. Cropped sweaters, knee length cardigans and everything in between seem to have made quite the effect. There is a style out there for everyone.
This Fashionista downplays a bohemian style by displaying a mid-thigh length white sweater. The knitted top exhibits a cuffed sleeve and a lace detail that trims the bottom. She pairs the long top with black leggings and lace-up booties for an overall cute and comfortable look that can be maintained all winter long. A sweater is no longer a winter necessity just to keep one warm and I believe this is one reason as to why the trend is so popular. There are so many variations of sweaters out there, with thicker knits and bold colors. Sweaters are not only for looks, but encompass this Fashionista’s fashion rule: she has to be comfortable.
