So many vintage trends are all the rage right now. The most popular styles look like a combination of Hilary Banks from Fresh Prince of Bel Air mixed with the Spice Girls. Fabulous jackets and mom jeans pair nicely with a bodysuit and choker. Pins and patches are also making a comeback in a big way, allowing you to spice up anything from shoes, to bags, to jackets. Some Fashionistas even use patches to decorate a simple phone case.
This Fashionista, whom I spotted in South Moon Under, is no stranger when it comes to trends and she is not afraid to rock as many as she loves all at once. Whether you love chokers, distressed vintage band T-shirts, mom jeans or platform sneakers, you can mix and match these trends in order to create a vibrant and funky look.
The outfit is kept simple with a neutral body suit, black bomber and a pair of vintage Levi’s. But this Fashionista’s ensemble is totally complemented by the details that bring it to life. The sequin patch gives this look edgy flair. I also adore the Jeffrey Campbell suede western booties as a staple shoe to wear to class, to work or to a night out.
My personal favorite piece from this look is the black sequin bomber. Bomber jackets are extremely versatile because you can wear one over leggings and a T-shirt for errands, or throw it over your outfit to a concert.
As the winter approaches, it is time to break out the blanket scarves, boots and parkas. Be ready for more advice from me on how to let your style shine through all those layers.
