Summer is over and so is my freedom to spend all day doing whatever my heart desires. Fortunately, I was raised to believe that the start of a new school year also signifies a season of new experiences. New clothes and new classes mean a wide array of possibilities.
This will be my second autumn in New York City, and I feel that because I have a better understanding of my surroundings, I will be able to fully immerse myself in the city’s culture.
Another staple of the school season is a backpack. Many students at NYU, and in the New York City area, use leather backpacks to carry their books and personal items. Leather makes an outfit for class a little edgier and city appropriate. Students all over the country use backpacks to carry heavy books, but with leather, it makes the experience that much more enjoyable.
This Fashionista paired her dark brown leather backpack with a bohemian outfit. She wore a printed black jumpsuit with strappy tan wedges. Her jumpsuit is fitted at the waist but flowy in the leg section, making it a comfortable ensemble for class. The wedges are perfect for the jumpsuit as well because the pants might be a bit long and drag on the ground in flats. She also adds feather shaped earrings, which she shows off by wearing her hair in a high ponytail. Finally, her antique gold ring with a light blue stone add personality and even more class to the look.
