Sometimes bold is better. Winter weather typically convinces people to stay within their warm, dark comfort zone. With chilly temperatures and waning amounts of daylight, most New Yorkers seek comfort in their head-to-toe black ensembles. But why not stand out in the crowd? A little color can go a long way.
When it comes to menswear, the bold, the bright and the patterned can be nerve-racking, and at times hard to pull off. The typical jeans or trouser, combined with a sensible coat is the go-to for most Fashionistos braving the cold. But the simple addition of a bright color can change the entire mood and even perception of one’s look. Whether it be a small accessory, a pair of shoes or, like in this case, the foundation for an entire ensemble, one bold color can really bring an outfit to the next level.
This Fashionisto opted for a pair of bright red jeans that definitely stood out in the crowd. The stark red pants looked almost fluorescent against the snow-covered backdrop of Washington Square. His attention-getter pants were complemented by his classic double-breasted peacoat that he had layered over a heather grey thermal. As for accessories, this Fashionisto kept warm with an old school newsboy cap and black oxfords.
What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Be bold! Everyone’s wearing all black, so make them look! Anyone can wear a bright color and stand out in the crowd. It’s more fun anyway!”
