I have been seeing leather everywhere lately; and by everywhere, I mean everywhere. Coincidentally, one of my favorite details in my last article was a great leather top. Leather seems to be having a major moment in all areas of wardrobe: pants, tops, jackets, boots and so much more! In my earlier days, when I thought of leather I thought of big leather jackets and guys on motorcycles, but not anymore! It’s such a chic way to take a seemingly casual outfit to the next level.
When I spotted this Fashionista, her stylish ensemble immediately impressed me, considering it was such a cold, blustery day. I know how hard it can be to stay fashionable when cold weather strikes. It takes a lot of effort not to just throw on a sweatshirt and cocoon myself into my big puffy parka. However, this Fashionista’s leather vest instantly caught my eye. I loved that she took a simple red dress and added some fierce accessories to give her overall look a grungy feel.
While the dress already had a slight texture, her tights added another element of pattern to her look, yet it was all effortlessly cohesive. Her lace-up boots enhanced the grunge element, while her statement necklace brought back the feminine edge. For me, the leather vest tied it all together, like a bow on top of a present. It encompassed elements of grunge, but was still fierce, chic and classy. There is no denying the outfit would not be the same without the vest. Add a touch of leather to your next outfit! There are so many options, including accessories.
