What happened to “bigger is always better?” When did the media convince us that smaller, skinnier and thinner are the adjectives that we want to be associated with? Why is our generation, especially college students, so infatuated with showing skin, wearing crop tops and skintight jeans?
These questions have crossed my mind time and time again. I myself am just as guilty as many of my fellow Fashionistas in craving the crop top look and a super skinny jean style. Fortunately enough for us, we have beautiful Fashionistas like this SUNY Oneonta College student to remind us just how amazing adjectives like big, baggy and comfortable really are.
When it comes to sweaters, bigger is always better! Aside from comfort, what exactly is it that makes this baggy sweater trend so desirable? Oversized sweaters are ideal for many situations and are extremely versatile. Once you invest in an oversized sweater, you’ll be sure to keep it in your closet all year long.
This Fashionista is rocking the trend with a pair of leggings, knee-high boots and a cute slouchy messenger bag. Her sweater has a great color and texture that will be sure to turn heads while she walks around on campus. Without question, one could easily take this sweater and complement it with a completely opposite ensemble. If it wasn’t winter, this Fashionista could pair the sweater with a tank, pencil skirt and a pair of Converse. Of course this outfit transformation would make for a great look when the weather is slightly warmer. Whether it’s snowing or the flowers are blooming, an oversized sweater is definitely an aesthetic you’ll be sure to want in your closet this year.
