Neiman Marcus once said, “Women who wear black lead colorful lives.” Karl Lagerfeld the head designer at Chanel said, “One is never over or under dressed in a little black dress.” Both of these quotes talk about the color black. Whether you believe that black is or isn’t a color, the truth is that black is extremely versatile and a staple for any Fashionista/o.
The week’s Fashionista caught my attention with the statement pieces in her outfit. Her look consists of a crisp black high-low T-shirt with side slits, destroyed indigo skinny jeans rolled at the bottom to showcase the black jelly shoes and a pop of red lipstick to contrast the black pieces in the look. She also wears a gold Marc by Marc Jacobs watch and a simple pearl drop necklace which lays just at the collar of the shirt. A splash of ocean blue color is visible on her nails, along with winged black eyeliner and, as mentioned above, red lipstick that finishes the look.
Looking closely at the outfit, there is a mixture of blue and black elements with the nails and jeans against the black shirt and shoes. The Fashionista keeps the accessories rather simple and clean, as to not clash with the classic elements in her look. Nothing is more classic than a red lip, jeans and a black T-shirt. It’s a fool-proof way to look chic all day long.
