September is among us. Fall is about to come full swing, and this means that your wardrobe needs an upgrade in order to prep for the chilly weather. For now, however, it’s difficult to pull together a killer outfit that matches with the changing temperatures throughout the day. 52 degrees in the morning when you leave for class and then 78 degrees by lunch time? It’s the harsh reality of New York at this time of the year. So how do you stay stylish in this weather without being too cold or hot?
Dresses are a great staple for any time of the year. I found this Fashionista sporting a long sleeved little black dress. She is wearing a beige trench coat that cuts a few inches below the hem of her dress. This combo is perfect for the fall weather. The coat is lightweight and stylish to protect you from the chilly winds on your way to your classes in the morning. Later on in the day, you can take off the coat and soak up some of the nice sunshine. This Fashionista decided to roll up the sleeves of her dress to cuff them with her coat.
With a deep V-neck cut in the dress, the Fashionista wore a statement body chain to play with the exposed area. Suede booties complement her coat to combine the perfect amount of black and brown into her outfit. Finally, sunglasses are a must to add a coolness effect (and to avoid everyone’s gazes as you walk around campus running on three cups of coffee).
Layers are the way to go for the fall! It’s easier to take off certain pieces, like coats, instead of sweating in the middle of the quad. Now get out there and start layering!
