We are all living up this weirdly warm weather over the holidays, but we can’t ignore the harsh months of January and February coming soon. Now that the holidays are over and we are stuffed to the brim with secret family recipes and sweet treats, it’s officially time to get out of sweatpants and get back to the normal school routine.
This Fashionista keeps warm on the Indiana University campus by using the technique of layering. “Nothing keeps me more warm walking to class than having multiple layers to bundle me up,” this Fashionista told me. She starts this outfit with simple black leggings and a black tank top underneath to have a solid canvas to begin the outfit. She begins her layering with a gray American Eagle Outfitters’ sweater paired with gray booties. To top this look off, she ends this outfit with a red plaid blanket scarf to add a pop of color and let’s not forget warmth.
This look is easily put together, light enough to throw a heavy jacket overtop and looks completely #RAD walking down the sidewalk on campus. With the focal point being the blanket scarf, she really shows off this accessory and the colorful addition it provides for this outfit. Not to mention, this outfit can easily transition from class to play.
What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Make a scarf the focal point of your outfit. Not only is it a way to keep warm, but it’s an easy pop of color for a boring outfit!”
