For those of you that don’t know, us Midwestern Fashionistas enduring bitter winters filled with lots of wind and snow tend to start dressing for spring weather long before it’s technically due… we just can’t help ourselves. With bohemian-inspired looks continuing to linger both on and off the runway, this free-spirited trend is here to stay in the upcoming season.
This Fashionista makes a major boho statement with a bold tribal print blanket cardigan. The hues of this cozy piece are rich and earthy—perfect for channeling your inner flower child come spring weather. Fringe detail further emphasizes the bohemian feel. In these instances, stacked jewelry is a must; silver bracelets, a chunky silver Marc Jacobs watch and a killer layered statement necklace perfectly complement the Southwestern vibes of the ensemble. Paired with a large cross-body leather bag, a plain white tank and denim skinnies, this embodies the very definition of flowy, comfortable and free-spirited.
Why is the bohemian look so particularly on-trend as of late? Undoubtedly inspired by the ever-growing popularity of festival fashion (think Coachella and Lollapalooza), these ensembles have it all. They’re relaxed yet chic, serene, down to earth and most importantly—often incredibly comfortable.
What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “I feel the most confident when I’m dressed comfortably and that’s why I like the flowy elements of boho clothing. It’s super easy to transform boho pieces from fall and winter to spring by pairing them with lighter articles, cropped jeans or cute leather sandals. I also think pairing darker pieces with bright silver accessories can make them more appropriate for spring!”
