The unspoken fashion don’t rules: don’t wear white after Labor Day, don’t wear black and navy and save the baseball hat for a bad hair day or working out. These might be the rules our mothers went by, but it’s 2016 and fashion has no rules nowadays. If you can rock it and it looks awesome, then you go for it! Recently, I’ve started to realize that not all clothes have a specific purpose or occasion. These days, you can mix athletic with feminine or urban and classic. Fashion is as fluid as you want it to be, and this is what makes this Fashionista a superstar. She proves that you don’t have to stick to one bubble and that you can make each piece your own.
This Fashionista shows us how you can wear a seemingly masculine Patagonia cap with a dress, and have it look natural and fabulous. This look is perfect for the early jump into spring weather we are being blessed with right now in South Carolina. She pairs the cap with a black, spaghetti strap tank dress and a neutral cardigan. To complete her sporty look, she wears navy Chelsea boots and a leather purse that is the perfect transition from going to class and then out with friends.
What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “I love pairing girly dresses with more tomboyish hats. It is a fun twist that you can do with basically any style to make it your own. My personality and style are both really laid back so I like to dress that way too. So my advice is to mix and match things you wouldn’t normally pair together”
