With March in full force and our patience with this winter practically dwindling by the second, the sunny spring days can’t come fast enough. Waking up to this depressing, mundane weather every day is something that I now dread, so trying to find ways to make my outfits feel more spring-y has become a very common thing lately (#desperation). A pop of color here, a pop of color there, ripped boyfriend jeans and less (way less) layers can sum up my latest outfits and also explain why I’m constantly sick.
Now if you’ve read my past articles, you’re probably aware of how I almost never wear color. Never, ever, ever. Taking this into consideration, the fact that lately I’ve been adding bright and colorful clothes to my closet should come as a massive surprise. I don’t know, something about mixing bright colors as staple pieces with neutrals seems so appealing and refreshing that I just can’t get enough. Colors can brighten up any outfit (uh…clearly) and make it look more alive and warm-weather appropriate. Isn’t that what we all want after this ridiculous cold? Yup, I think so. Colors are fun to work with and if worn correctly, they can make any outfit very trendy and hip without looking overwhelming or excessive. I’ve been particularly into colorful tops paired with neutrals to spice things up a little and take a step away from the latest fashion craze with neutrals. Bright staple pieces were also huge on the runways these past few weeks, so I mean, how much better can things get?
This Fashionista’s look is amazing. Her ability to mix and match not only colors, but also textures and patterns, to create an outfit that catches everyone’s attention and also makes us excited for the cooler weather is excellent. She’s paired a beautiful bright orange sweater with a pair of white and blue striped ripped pants. Her black ankle booties with side cut-outs and gold buckles accent her black Michael Kors tote bag and warm the look up a little bit. As for accessories, she’s wearing a breathtaking braided blue statement necklace with different colored rhinestones and gold details, as well as long gold earrings. Her accessories undoubtedly tie the outfit together and dress it up a notch. She couldn’t have created a better outfit to go with her bright colored sweater. High-five, girl, I’m obsessed.
What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Wear more color! Sure, dark colors are great, but it’s important to switch things up a little every now and then. Adding a little color to your outfits won’t ever hurt anyone, so just go for it!”
