I’m sure we all remember the famous denim on denim duo worn by former celebrity couple Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears. On top of that, we can’t forget the popularity of overalls as a fashion statement in the early ’90s as shown by Tyra Banks, Jennifer Aniston and many more fashion icons. Now who’s to say we can’t combine these two former fashion looks to bring back the ’90s to the present fashion trends?
When bringing back the ’90s, one can simply emphasize the element of popular ”90s trends such as denim or overalls. However, my Fashionista’s outfit allows me to really focus on the best of both worlds in one single piece: denim overalls! For her piece, she decided to roll up the once ankle-length overalls to add a bit of dimension. A lacy tank top underneath the overalls provides the perfect amount of flare and daintiness alongside a simple pendant. Lastly, of course you can never go wrong with an accent floppy hat.
Nostalgia, comfort and balance are the three key elements into bringing back the ’90s through fashion. You don’t necessarily have to go the denim route, as there are an endless amount of ’90s memory triggers. Bringing those memories out via clothing items while still maintaining an over all balanced look will definitely have everyone wishing we went backwards to a few eras ago.
What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Dress for yourself. Dress comfortably, wear what makes you happy and don’t pay attention to what others have to say. If your outfit makes you feel good visibly and physically, then that’s all that matters.”
