STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Calling All Crops

Crop tops are beginning to creep out of everyone’s closets. It’s that time of year again. Summer is so close. Get ready to pull out those high-rise shorts and crop tops. This summer is all about the crops once again. Crop tops are so much fun because they can basically be worn anywhere.

We always see girls at Coachella and other festivals wearing crops, high-rise shorts, sandals and flower headbands. This outfit is normally associated with a free-spirited, bohemian chick. Even if your style is normally not like that, try it out! Fashion is about going outside of your comfort zone and having fun with the latest trends.

The outfits that are typically worn to festivals can be easily imitated in order to wear on a daily basis. Depending on what your plans are for the day, you can either show off your midriff or keep it covered. Throw on those high-rise shorts with your favorite crop top along with many different pieces of jewelry. This outfit can be worn anywhere that’s casual and chill. Now, if you are going somewhere where you think that showing of your midriff would be inappropriate, put on a high-rise skirt with the crop top and a cute pair of sandals. This creates a charming yet cool outfit.

That is exactly what this Fashionista did. She was going from class to class so she found it to be appropriate to keep her stomach covered. The entire back portion of the shirt is cut out which is super cute and still acceptable to wear anywhere. When deciding how much skin to show is appropriate or not, it is all about balancing it out. This Fashionista completed the task perfectly. She is showing off her legs and some of her back but none of her midriff is showing. That is the perfect balance for an everyday outfit. If she were going to a festival or out on the town, she may want to find a pair of shorts or a different skirt in order to show off the midriff.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Have fun with crop tops. Do not be afraid to show some extra skin this summer. I typically only wear crop tops when I am going out at night, but today I decided that I was going to wear one to class. I was cool and comfortable. Now I challenge you to try something new!”
