It is that time of the year again in the midwest where it seems to be freezing in the morning and a scorching by noon. Due to this, dressing in layers is almost a must and cardigans become a staple in countless wardrobes.
Throwing a cardigan over a tee shirt seems easy enough but it is hard sometimes to dress it up or look more presentable. As a lover of cardigans myself and fall weather, this is one of my favorite times of the year. I have learned over the years that in order to escalate a simple cardigan tee shirt outfit details and color coordination are key. I am also a firm believer in having shoes match my outfit to help tie everything together. This Fashionista’s outfit totally embodies that. Having a crème colored pair of shoes with a similar color cardigan helps pull her outfit together but is not making her outfit too matching.
The additional small but noticeable details of the buttons on the cardigan and her watch really help escalate her outfit. Also, adding her own personal style of sunglasses and a nice handbag instead of a backpack helps this Fashionista’s outfit transition from school to work or an internship.
Next time you want to just throw on a T-shirt and a cardigan remember color matching and the smallest details can and will go a long way.
