TREND ALERT! Converse sneakers are coming back in style. That being said, I’m not sure if they actually ever went out of style. While on a study tour abroad in London over winter break, I saw a lot of hints that the Converse trend was catching on again. At Camden Market, there was a booth where you could buy Converse-inspired sneakers and get a design of your choice painted on them. From this point on I started seeing Converses everywhere I looked. I was not even back on the URI campus for a complete week before seeing these sneakers popping up.
This Fashionista pulls off a casually cool Converse look. She wears these black high-top Chuck Taylor sneakers styled with some light wash skinny jeans. Then, she pairs a black knit sweater layered under a black down vest. With a small cross body bag and some tortoise sunglasses, her outfit is effortlessly chic. Trying to dress chic as well as casual can be a tough combination to create, but I think the classic Chucks are the perfect key to this.
What I really love about how this Fashionista styled her sneakers is that those Fashionistos out there can take some advice from her as well! So guys, it’s time to jump on board the Chucks trend. Pair your sneakers with some easy straight leg jeans and a black sweatshirt. You could even go as far as finishing it off with a similar down vest.
It seems like the Converse sneaker has either become a classic in our fashion realm, or it keeps coming back in cycles over the years. Either way, all college students need to try out this rad style this week by kicking it in some chucks!
