By junior year, I still had the biggest regrets about not going Greek. Maybe it was the fact that I wasn’t a part of something bigger than myself or because I had missed an opportunity to create a strong sisterhood with other girls. The thought of going through recruitment had me so beyond nervous, but I knew I would instantly regret it if I still chose not to. So, as a junior, I went through recruitment and ended up finding the perfect house for me. During the process, I was still nervous, but I had a great outfit on that made me feel confident and that landed me a lot of compliments. I knew that even if I wasn’t feeling on top of my game, at least my outfit was.
With that being said, there are a lot of outfits that you will see during recruitment and, to be completely honest, sometimes that outfit you choose can make or break you. Shorts that are too short and dresses that reveal too much are all common mistakes that can easily be avoided. During recruitment, it is so important to show off every bit of your personality, whether it is sweet and shy or loud and sassy. However, at the same time, choosing to wear an outfit that not only highlights your personality, but also looks classy and tasteful is the key to impress and feel more confident.
This Fashionista is a devoted member of her sorority, and she takes the time to choose accessories that best highlight her personality. If she has to wear an all-black dress to a function, she dresses it up even more by wearing a gold statement necklace with an eye-catching pattern. She makes the black dress a bit more casual by adding a cute pair of wedges with little bows on the front. The dress itself has a nice cut in the front, which allows more room for the statement necklace. She looks completely put together and also stands out by wearing pieces that could start a conversation, which can be very important during recruitment. Who wouldn’t just want to talk about clothes the whole time? It is an instant ice breaker.
What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “It is so important to wear something classy and put together during recruitment, or any sorority function. By also wearing bold accessories, you will stand out in a sea of people who are wearing the same colored dress.”
