The weather forecast in Ireland today says, “overcast with a chance of rain.” No surprise. I’ve been studying abroad in a quaint Irish town for the past three weeks, and the only thing dampening the mood is the weather. Literally! It has probably rained half of the time we’ve been here, but the people charmingly call it “liquid sunshine.”
If one thing has come in handy, it’s my rain boots. No matter what kind of messy weather has blown our way, my feet have stayed dry and my canvas shoes unruined. The next best thing to rubber shoes when fighting the elements are combat boots like the ones this Fashionista is wearing. The durable soles make walking through puddles worry free. The high lace-ups offer the military style that have earned the shoes their name. The best part about combat boots is that the dirtier they get, the better. They are shoes you can wear in all conditions since they are meant to look army strong.
They can also be combined with a variety of outfits, like the dark wash jeans and sweater the Fashionista has chosen. The fluffy white sweater is a classic color combination with the black boots and purse. It also balances out the masculine shoes with its feminine tapering at the waist. A simple gold ring and watch complete her laid back, sophisticated look.
What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “These boots are extremely versatile. I can wear them with almost any outfit or with a pair of skinny jeans. They go well if I need to dress them up with a satin shirt and blazer or go casual with a T-shirt and leather jacket. They add a bit of edge to a feminine outfit. You can never go wrong with a bit of leather.”
