When we think of polka-dots we think, of fun and casual, but has the word “sexy” every popped into your head? No? I didn’t think so either. But in this case, polka dots have been twisted. The pattern has been around for a while, way back when in 1926 when Miss America wore her “Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie Yellow Polka-Dot Bikini.” Thereafter, the trend of polka-dots became popular between both women…and men. Minnie Mouse eventually had the pattern added to her bow, and alike to stripes, polka-dots are a classic.
These days, men rock the subtle polka-dot, and this Fashionisto sure did rock the subtle pattern. His half-sleeve dress shirt looked sophisticated yet sensual. Men’s half-sleeve dress shirts state casual yet sexy, and this Fashionisto’s look had the perfect amount of polka-dots and confidence. He wore a Zara dress pant and a classy pair of suede Alfani shoes. His cross-body briefcase added a more formal look. When I asked him why he was carrying the empty bag, he said, “It looks fashionable.” The polka-dots add a fun vibe to any outfit. The dress shirts are a major trend right now, and I’m sure every guy you see whether at a BBQ or at the mall is wearing a half sleeve dress shirt with some sort of pattern.
The polka-dot dress shirt was dressed up perfectly with off-gray pants and the black suede shoes. It’s important to always mix and match instead of keeping a consistency in color. Step out of your comfort maze…and connect those dots.
