STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Don't Be Afraid to Skirrrt

I’m about to be really real with you here; I hate wearing pants. There, I said it. I hate the feeling of my legs being suffocated by the straitjackets that are jeans. That’s why when summer slowly withers away, I’m overcome with sadness at the realization that I can’t get away with not wearing pants anymore. Now let me clarify, by not wearing pants, I don’t mean that I go bottomless completely. I’m not advocating public nudity here. I’m just saying that I prefer the freedom of skirts and dresses much more than the constricting nature of pants…especially jeans.
But this Fashionista has inspired me! Just because it’s fall, doesn’t mean we necessarily have to pack away the skirts! Paring skirts with booties and a sweater or long sleeved shirt makes for a great transitional outfit. The booties are a key element here; they really allow you to be able to pull off the skirt. In the same way, compensating for the exposed leg with a long sleeved shirt is also a must. To ensure that your outfit looks extra pumpkin spice latte worthy, be sure to wear warm colors, as this Fashionista did. She’s rocking a maroon colored D-ring skirt, a basic black top and black booties. The cohesive colors of this outfit make it seasonally appropriate, while the skirt is a playful reminder of warmer weather. Once it gets to the heart of fall and the temperatures start to drop even more, it might be wise to invest in a pair of tights or knee-high socks, but until then, we should celebrate what’s left of the warmth!
So don’t be afraid to show a little leg… even if you’re participating in no shave November. Honestly, more power to you.
