Lazy days come with getting older. They are a testament of the brutality of 8 a.m. classes, study sessions from the night before or an attitude of “suck it, world.” As sweatpants ditched their frumpiness and joggers stepped onto the scene, resisting their lure has become a hard-fought battle that sometimes ended in defeat. Some days, comfortable attire is the best you can offer to yourself and the world—but that doesn’t mean it can’t also be stylish. Besides, as Mindy Kaling declared, “If I’m going to be a mess, I might as well be a hot mess.”
This Fashionista swapped sweatpants for tried and true jeans. Decked in a Red Sox baseball cap and Vans, her true statement came from pairing two jackets together.
When I spotted this Fashionista, I immediately loved her double-jacket look. I particularly adore the simplicity of it. There are so many great jacket combinations possible that can simultaneously offer insulation against winter weather. The most visible version of this trend is a jean jacket with a hoodie underneath it (Admit it, this style option is in practically every action movie.) Despite that, the trend is no less lovable. Personally, I love this style because of all the possibilities it holds. It’s kind of one-size-fits-all but in a good way. If your style isn’t outdoorsy or sporty, throw a leather jacket into the mix instead. Perhaps you’re better fitted by a trench coat or a bomber jacket. The point is, you can customize this trend to fit your needs or your style. In the end, there’s nothing better than a trend everyone can pull off.
