We all remember the notorious neon windbreakers, choker necklaces, bandannas and zubaz pants from the ’90s. Some of these trends are better off remaining in this decade (yikes!) while others have been making a bold reappearance in a great way. One of these blast from the past fads is Dr. Martens.
These boots were most commonly known as an accessory to the punk/grunge culture and are now making its way into the indie/hipster style. These practical yet stylish boots are prominent among the streets of Chicago. They are perfect against snow in these harsh winter months. These boots can be found in an array of colors such as bright pink, white, metallic, floral and even galaxy. This Fashionista chose to rock her Dr. Martens in dark burgundy.
Her red boots add just the right amount of color to make her outfit pop. Her camouflage green dress matches impeccably with her socks. Her cozy long black sweater cardigan complements her black tights and black scarf to a T. These neutral colors are ideal for putting together a winter season look that is flawless while keeping warm. These boots look best when worn over tall socks.
What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “I have a very eclectic style. I like to pull different articles of clothing from different stores and brands to make each one of my looks unique. Even though I don’t resonate with one style, I tend to lean more towards indie/bohemian fashion. Some of my favorite trends are crop tops and high-waisted pants.”
