STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Easy, Breezy, Boho

Fall is officially here! Even though fall isn’t in full-swing yet, Midwest Fashionistas are ready to start adding beautiful fall prints and colors into their campus style. The weather is at an awkward phase right now where it’s too chilly in the morning for shorts and T-shirts but by the afternoon we are sweating our pants off. Fashionistas know how to pick and choose their battles. It’s a time where we slowly stop wearing brights and gradually go for neutral and more muted colors.

Aztec prints have been an easy go to during the fall season. Since the colors are usually maroon, cream, brown, blue, etc., it reminds us of cooler weather and snuggling up by a fireplace. I love how this Fashionista wore the maroon crochet choker with the outfit because I feel like it really brings out the maroon in the open-shoulder top.

Open-shoulder tops, sweaters and dresses are becoming more and more popular. What can be more flattering than showing off some shoulder? No matter how old, young, overweight or thin a person is…the shoulder basically looks the same and it adds a subtle amount of sex appeal. The distressed jeans make the outfit casual while the lace-up faux suede cutout heels dress it up. Cutout heels are perfect for this weather because even though it’s faux suede, the cutouts make the shoe more breathable during the last few weeks of the warm weather but still have a presence for the love of fall.

Overall, the outfit is easy, breezy and bohemian. It is a great look for shopping, going to class, grabbing lunch, or running errands. My advice this week is to be comfortable in what you are wearing but be sure to add some detail pieces to make your outfit more unique. The choker, bracelets, distressed jeans, open shoulder top and cutout heels are tiny little details that when put together makes a huge difference in the overall appearance of the outfit.
