As we enter into a hot, sweaty summer, we ask ourselves when getting dressed: Do I really want to wear that? The answer is probably no. On a warm summer day, nothing feels better than being relaxed yet fashionable. That’s when denim shorts and comfortable tops come into play. Simple outfits are boring and outfits express who you are as a person, and there is nothing worse than being looked at as a boring person. So the question of the day is how do you spice up an easy, relaxed, truly comfortable ensemble? You accessorize!
This Fashionista effortlessly demonstrated the action of accessorizing. With plain denim cutoff shorts by Paige similar to these and a white tank top from Brandy Melville, she knew she needed to add her own flare to this basic look. She threw on a dark grey lace halter bralette by Free People underneath this sheer tank. This bralette is definitely a necessity with its comfortable yet trendy appearance.
She chose to accessorize with the Donna Hobo, a black smooth leather bag by Alexander Wang with a knotted shoulder strap. This Fashionista is wearing a gold moon and star charm necklace by Jennifer Zeuner, a gold Love ring by Cartier and an orange enamel H bracelet by Hermès on her wrist.
The part of this Fashionista’s outfit that originally caught my eye were her shoes. To complete her accessorized look, she wore her Donna Studded Suede Flat Espadrilles by Jimmy Choo. Currently, you can buy these chic designer flats at INTERMIX. They come in black and tan, and are perfect whether it is spring, summer or fall. These are a must-have this season. Then to block that hot summer sun, she chose to continue to accessorize with a pair of white Ray-Ban aviators!
So Fashionista’s, as we quickly enter July, and the weather gets warmer and stickier, always remember that a boring outfit can become a hip outfit within seconds!
What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “It is important to accessorize, especially when wearing jean shorts and a white tank. Even though it may not seem like it, a handbag, cool shoes, and a necklace and bracelet go a long way!”
