STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Fall Into Layers

Infinity scarves, thick cozy sweaters and boots have all been put on hold this fall in Northern California. Why? Well, with weather in the high 80s and mid 90s at the end of October, it makes it difficult to pull out all those fabulous fall pieces that were bought for back to school. However, it wont be long before the weather changes, and you’ll be able to make the fashion transition to true autumn weather gear. This month’s Fashionista shows us just how to do so.

The Fashionista’s outfit has an essence of breezy and laid back yet stylish which is perfect for transitional weather during this time in California. She wears a red kimono, which blends in nicely with the falling autumn leaves. A kimono is a great layering piece for fall and the transitional weather that comes with it. You can use it even after all those music festivals you attended this summer. One item that perhaps epitomizes fall weather is a felt hat. This Fashionista sport one in black, which shows off her cute pixie hair cut. Her pair of booties features another popular fall trend: fringe. It’s been one of the biggest fall trends this year. Extra details on classic pieces always make you appear stylish. Some colorful bracelets finish this Fashionista’s look.

The key to dressing for fall weather is layering. Don’t be afraid to mix in summer pieces with some of your new fall pieces like booties or hats. The trick is to slowly incorporate fall pieces, and then when the weather finally changes, you can add the thicker sweater or tights.
