In the middle of winter, you only have so many class-appropriate pants options—jeans, leggings, sweatpants; you know the rotation. Even my ripped jeans have to be retired until the spring, for fear of freezing my knees off. If you’re like me, you find yourself sticking to your two or three favorite pairs of jeans to go to class. This can work well for the first two or three weeks, but soon, I find myself looking for a little wardrobe variety.
The patterned jeans that this Italian Fashionista was wearing fit the bill perfectly. The all-over geometric pattern on the denim drew my eyes to this statement piece. She paired these jeans with an all-black puffer jacket to combat the cold winter day in South Bend, Indiana. A pair of black, motorcycle boots with silver buckles and other hardware complemented the darker gray pattern of the jeans, and were perfect for the weather. She completed the look with a subtly patterned scarf for extra warmth. The entire look exuded a European flair for style, and looked so nicely put together.
As I am one who sometimes struggles to make my winter outfits look cohesive, this Fashionista made it look effortless! I will definitely be adding a pair of patterned jeans to my shopping list. As this Fashionista demonstrated, winter shouldn’t limit your pants options!
What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Remember that staying warm doesn’t preclude looking stylish. Black is always a go to because it can work with everything, especially colorful scarves and hats!”
