Now that it is winter time in Ohio, I have noticed that there is a bit less originality in my fellow Fashionistas’ outfits. There is a plethora of fitted, mid-length North Face coats over a pair of black lululemon leggings that are tucked into a pair of L.L.Bean boots. Don’t get me wrong, there is absolutely nothing wrong with this! A girl has got to be warm, especially during finals week when everyone’s immune systems are at an all-time low. With that said, I began to turn my attention to the Fashionistos on campus. How are they stylishly handling the cold weather?
Walking from the library, I ran into this month’s Fashionisto. He is wearing a rust orange Patagonia jacket, over a heather grey Patagonia vest and striped button-down. This layered look is fantastic because it is not as heavy as one big winter coat would be. It is easy to remove a layer and incorporates more colors to enhance the overall appeal of the outfit. On the bottom, he is wearing blue corduroy pants and a pair of dark brown leather Desert boots. The pants work perfectly with the bold jacket on top. The pants nicely compliment the rest of the outfit while still having their own moment. The Desert boots were a great choice too. They are a stylish alternative to the heavier L.L.Bean boots, especially when the snow has cleared up a bit.
As my dedicated readers know, I never forget the accessories. This Fashionisto’s Avi-8 Hawker Hurricane watch is a “bold neutral.” It is not a typical neutral piece because it has a few pops of color, but it blends very well with other bold colors too.
I have learned that I need to keep my eyes open to the Fashionistos on campus as well! Stay tuned for more stylish Ohio Wesleyan guys in the near future.
