It was the day after a rainstorm in New York when I spotted this Fashionista making the streets of the Financial District her runway. But even though it had stopped raining and it was already 80 degrees in the city, there’s absolutely nothing dry about this ensemble.
I’m always a sucker for a great neutral shirt, and I’m especially drawn to this one because of its versatility. It’s a tank top, so it works great for the warm New York weather yet has a long line aesthetic which can easily make it a dress for our edgier Fashionistas. I love how the sides are cut asymmetrically as well—shorter in the front, longer in the back. This Fashionista put it all together effortlessly with a classic pair of denim cutoff shorts and Hunter Boot rain boots. Can we also talk about how she tucked in the shirt on one side to give us a little more of those denim shorts?
Let’s also not forget the bag, with its eye-catching light pink palette and leather accents. In addition to the champagne-colored sunglasses, both flawlessly scream “summer”. This look, worn by this Fashionista for just a quick trip to the store, can easily be transitioned into a going out look paired with a pair of skinny jeans and some rad stiletto heels.
Trying to cop this look for yourself? Check out this top, these shorts and either this rain boot or these pumps.
What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Get yourself a versatile top which can be worn with pretty much anything you want just about anywhere you want—the store, to class, a party or the club. Don’t be afraid to throw it all together with some attention-grabbing shoe game either.”
