As the temperature slowly rises and the grass begins to sprout again, Loyola’s campus comes alive with vibrant colors and fragrances, a sign that spring has sprung. What’s even better are the bright and fluorescent colors that glow off of all of the Fashionista/os and their outfits here in the great city, and I’m so thrilled I get to take snapshots and share my sightings with all of you! For as long as I can remember, floral patterns have always been trending fashion statements; one can never go wrong with a classic and effortless pattern that perfectly reflects the blooming flowers and shining sun as warmer weather makes its mark on the world.
Not only is participating in the floral pattern trend a great way to keep up on the weather and look chic for classes, but it’s also so versatile. My favorite way to add a little spice to the timeless floral pattern is to make it a two-piece outfit, which means you should have the top and bottom correspond with a matching pattern or throw onlookers for a kick with clashing two different patterns together. Either way you Fashionistas/os decide to approach it, it’s bound to be a hit!
I spotted this Fashionista strolling around campus rocking a fabulous floral duo. Her bomber styled zip-up jacket pairs perfectly (literally) with her high-waisted skater-esque skirt. To bring out the black lining along the collar and bottom of her jacket, this Fashionista wore a black neckline crop top with some layered necklaces for a little touch of sparkle. Along with the luminous colors beaming off of her floral skirt, she paired a yellow box shaped Michael Kors purse with a chain detailed strap to keep things popping. I also couldn’t forget to point out her magenta high-top Vans that color code with her floral ensemble and maintain that Californian skater vibe.
