My favorite music video is “Ride” by Lana Del Rey, so when i saw this fantastically fringed jacket on a Fashionista this week, I knew I just had to feature it! Her suede fringed jacket was surprisingly light and went well with her more casual shorts and halter top. However, you don’t always need a fringed jacket to do the trick. Fringe is all the rage this summer, whether it’s the trim on a kimono or the bottom of a skirt, everything is fringed and fabulous!
The beauty of fringe is that it creates an effortless bohemian look reminiscent of musicians like the amazing Stevie Knicks. At first I wasn’t sold on fringe as a widespread trend, but now I completely embrace the vintage boho meets rock’n’roll feel it gives to any outfit.
This Fashionista completely killed it in her vintage jacket complete with conchos and a lace up back. Although this is obviously an amazing thrift find, you can get a similar feel in Hollister Co.’s black fringed jacket. Her palm print halter top is also very trendy and easy to throw on for the summer. High-waisted shorts are a must-have item in anyone’s closet. She made an especially good choice by going for the ripped denim aesthetic as it gave her a more distressed and vintage feel.
Finally, we have to talk about accessories! She wore large tortoise shell sunglasses, which complemented her features and gave her a retro vibe. To finish off the look, her amazing gladiator sandals went perfectly and made the outfit a little less harsh than say, Dr. Martens would have. Her sunglasses are Urban Outfitters and the sandals are a thrift store find; however, if you want to get her look, I suggest you check out ASOS sunglasses and H&M sandals.
What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “My advice this week is to embrace your inner rock goddess and fringe on!”
