The denim jacket was a huge statement piece back in the ’90s. Last year, many of the ’90s trends were making a comeback in fashion. They continue to do so in 2015. So, ’90s kids can rejoice and bust out those awesome scrunchies and colorful bracelets—thanks to Lizzie McGuire, of course! She was the epitome of late ’90s/early 2000s fashion queen. Her style was impeccable and I emulated many of her looks. Looking back, the item I wore the most was definitely the distressed denim jacket. So, when I saw a ton students on campus were wearing them, I knew I had to write about it.
The denim jacket is definitely a classic piece. It is easy to transition from season to season (winter to spring), or day-to-night. Also, it offers versatility in any style. Whether you are a girly girl or a minimalist, this jacket will still seamlessly adhere to your style. From wearing a floral patterned dress to a pair of black disco pants, this item helps tone down those flashy elements.
With so many different ways to style this jacket, it’s a no-brainer that you should own one, too! This Fashionista radiates in a simple white tank top and classic Ray-Ban sunglasses. She pairs the jacket with a pinkish, pastel jean and worn-out sneakers. This is a typical SoCal attire for students. The reason I like this look so much is because it can easily redefine your style, yet it gives a timeless feel. Most importantly, this denim jacket makes any attire look effortless. For most students, looking natural is key to perfection.
