Graphic T-shirts are a staple in my wardrobe. I could wear them everday. Graphic T-shirts of the ’60s, ’70s and ’80s centered on branding, political movements and the music scene. Today’s graphic T-shirts seem to follow the same path. History—especially fashion history—definitely repeats itself. Graphic T-shirts today are still a part of band merchandise, movies, television shows, social movements, slogans and feature some crazy cool designs. They are a wardrobe staple and are right next to jeans on every Fashionistas/os must-have list.
One of the reasons why I love graphic T-shirts so much is because they’re versatile. You don’t just have to pair them with jeans and sneakers. You can definitely rock a more stylish look. Which is what attracted me to this Fashionista’s look. She’s upgraded her graphic T-shirt with a tulle skirt and some killer booties. This Fashionista plays with a feminine look of the tulle skirt and adds an edgy vibe with her graphic top. It’s very retro-vintage meets runway chic.
Graphic tees are definitely here to stay, don’t be afraid of transforming your style with different looks. So grab a tulle skirt next time around instead of your favorite pair of jeans. If you don’t have a tulle skirt, a maxi will work just as well. And if you have a leather skirt, you can totally pull of the ’80s rocker chick. Just steer clear of too much eyeliner; some trends have died for a reason.
