STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: How to Reign When it's Raining

With spring approaching rapidly, I know State College we will be expecting a lot of rain. I know what you may be thinking: “I hate the rain,” or “I don’t care what I look like today because it’s raining.” Well I’m here to let you know that you can still dress cute and comfortable even when it’s raining!

This Fashionista embodies the perfect rainy-day look. Her oversized sweater is an essential piece when you want to look fashionable yet still seek comfort and warmth on those chilly, rainy days. The color of the sweater is a nice transition color from winter to spring, and the lace detailing at the bottom pulls the outfit together. It says, “I may not be trying, but at least my outfit looks like I am.”

Of course, this Fashionista has on her classic Hunter Rain Boots. Rain boots are an important part of any college-aged girl’s wardrobe. I will tell you from personal experience that they are completely necessary. I suggest Hunter Boots because they are durable and simple. Walking around campus on a rainy day, I see almost every girl sporting a pair.

This Fashionista sure knows how to accessorize as well! Her reversible leather tote bag may just be my favorite part of her whole look. These type of bags are really popular right now whether it’s in a work bag or an everyday go-to bag. The simplicity is what attracts me to it. It’s a classic brown on the outside, but this Fashionista informed me that it could be reversed to a bright mint color to add a pop of color to any outfit.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “I always want to dress well for class, but on rainy days, it can be pretty hard. However, I recently discovered that it’s not hard to find that balance of comfort and style, and when I do I definitely have a better and more productive day.”
