New Year’s is a time for resolutions. Let me guess, one of your resolutions for 2015 was to go to the gym more. How’s that working out so far? If you’re anything like me, your resolutions to get fit have taken a bit of a backseat to classes, work and just about anything else you can use as an excuse. Thankfully, you don’t have to be hitting the gym everyday to rock the sporty trend that’s in this season. From racing stripes to mesh details to joggers, looking like something out of Sports Illustrated is this season’s vogue.
If you happen to already be an all-star athlete like this Fashionista, putting a glam twist on a sporty outfit can be a fun way to dress up this trend. Even though this outfit is pretty monochromatic, the variance in shades and styles between each piece of clothing keeps the look exciting and different. Her joggers from Aerie are made from super soft gray cotton with navy and white stripe detailing on the ankles and waist. Paired with the joggers are a classic white button-down shirt that has similar stripe detailing as her pants, a sparkly J.Crew necklace to add some drama to her outfit and a dark gray Canada Goose parka to keep her nice and warm.
This Fashionista chose to wear white Bangs sneakers as a trendier option than regular running sneakers, keeping the look more focused on style than functionality. This isn’t the outfit to wear to the gym, but it’s perfect for anything else you could be doing during the day. It’s an easy outfit to throw on when you’re running around doing errands, going to class or even meeting some friends for dinner. The topknot finishes off this Fashionista’s ensemble to look polished and refined.
What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Comfort is the first thing I consider when getting dressed. If adding a necklace or something else easy can make me look a little more stylish, then why not just go for it?”
