STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Keep Clogging On

When you think of clogs, you think of heavy, wooden shoes used for hard labor or, in some cultures, for dancing. Clogs made their way into the fashion scene in the ’70s but slowly died out. More recently, clogs have come back into style. Brands like Free People and Kelsi Dagger have thrown in their own twist on the clog. Instead of going for a traditional look, they added metallic, studs and other trendy touches to update the shoes. Clogs don’t only have to be worn with traditional clothes either; they can be worn on the high street, as well.

I found this Fashionista rocking her clogs with a simple look. She wore a pair of distressed boyfriend jeans that were cuffed at the ankles. The relaxed fit of the jeans kept the clogs, which had a bit of a heel, very casual. She added an off-the-shoulder black top to match her cool footwear. The shorter length of the top complements the high waistline of the boyfriend jeans. To accessorize, this Fashionista added and choker necklace that has a drop accent. Her darker berry lip adds a pop of color to her casual look.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “I like to keep my look comfortable and casual for my day to day style. These clogs are really comfortable but add a unique touch to my look. My advice to dress up a casual look would be to add a dark lip. I’d say it’s my signature makeup look.”
