There is nothing worse than seeing an outfit with clashing components. Some of the best ensembles are composed of neutral colored items for an overall simple but powerful look. I spotted this Fashionista rocking exactly that on a sunny spring day.
I was first intrigued by her look when I saw her shorts. I’ve never seen anything like them! They were half black and half white, split right down the middle. Making sure to not detract from the denim shorts, she wore a white modal cami tank top on top. For shoes, the Fashionista wore Acne Studios’ Jensen suede beige boots. The pointed toe trend for ankle boots continues to hold popularity over other styles and the beige color matches with practically everything. Her boots are the perfect spring footwear for even when the days are no longer as chilly.
As for how she went about accessorizing, the Fashionista traded in her usual handbag for a vintage backpack. The Marilyn Monroe backpack not only worked as a practical weekend accessory, but it also deserves extra points for being an awesome thrifted find. You never know what gems you’ll find upon entering second hand shops! Skipping on jewelry, she finished the look off with a pair of classic black Ray-Ban wayfarers. She was refracting the sun’s rays in style!
What’s your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Monochrome can take any simple outfit and give it a bit of a sleek edge. I also like adding a vintage accessory to keep the look casual overall.”
