The layering of a variety of different patterns, colors and textures is what defines fall fashion to me. I love to take pieces I originally bought to style separately and work them together to create that authentic, layered look. Being a broke college student, the fall is also one of the best times to go thrift shopping! You just might find the perfect finishing touch to your favorite fall ensemble.
This Fashionista’s outfit represents the epitome of fall layering. She starts off with the classic plaid dress. In my opinion, the plaid dress is a staple in any girl’s closet this fall. You can style it so many different ways. She pairs the dress with an adorable trench coat from Forever 21. The trench coat is also a vital piece to have in your closet this fall. It’s sleek and sophisticated but also will keep you warm throughout the next few months.
The best part of fall outfits is definitely the accessories. I don’t think one could ever own enough knee-high socks. Tights and socks are the key to transforming any old dress or skirt into full-blown fall fashion. And yes, it is okay to get them in every color. Last, but definitely not least, you need your favorite booties. Boots are also something you can never have too many pairs of!
