It is officially freezing outside. All motivation to look cute for class has disappeared under all those warm winter layers. More often than not, these layers go hand in hand with a couple shirts piled under a comfy and unfortunately not very flattering sweatshirt. Luckily, I am here to tell you that your layers do not need to be lazy and boring to stay warm!
In an effort to maintain somewhat of a stylish wardrobe and survive the bitter Wisconsin winter, I have become an expert at layering. The best go-to is a base layer of a T-shirt of any variety and a nice warm cardigan on top. Personally, I love to find a nice flowing long sleeve T-shirt for additional warmth. As for the cardigan, there are a ton of different styles out there, from big and fuzzy to light and soft.
When I spotted this Fashionista, I knew she was a pro at the layering game. I loved the burnt orange graphic T-shirt combined with the lightweight gray cardigan. Her faded denim jeans helped keep the look casual and fun for going to class, and I guarantee they kept her warmer than the leggings we tend to opt for on a chilly morning. Her chocolate colored boots pulled out the browns in her scarf, which really help tie the look together. Finally, bringing the layering into full effect, she layered a textured silver statement necklace with her printed scarf and to complete the look some stacked silver bracelets.
What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “The best part about adding layering pieces to your wardrobe is having so many versatile pieces that you can transition from winter to spring to summer!”
