As my fellow Fashionistas/os close the door on summer and open up their trunks to dig out their favorite fall essentials such as scarves and wool socks, some can’t help but feel a ping of excitement inside for it is finally fall! Whether fall is all about your favorite pumpkin flavored drinks or digging out your favorite Steve Madden boots, this season is one to strut about and this Fashionisto is doing just that.
Less is more when it comes to making a statement. It doesn’t always take a pop of color to make an outfit original. This Fashionisto paired ASOS black jeans with a plain white T-shirt, also from ASOS, for his monochromatic duo. As fall shows its true colors, that brings in the inevitable cool breezes, which means it’s time to tuck away your sandals and dig out your boots. By pairing a pair of black boots with black jeans, you won’t have to worry about stepping in random puddles of water or crunched leaves in the commons. To top of this look, this Fashionisto incorporated his beige long scarf to add extra vertical lines to pull in the full look.
Calvin Klein’s 2015 fall style focuses on the monochromatic color wheel. Gray is in and it is glamourous. By pairing familiar monochromatic schemes together, you too can take the runway style to your everyday style.
Whether you are running from class to your dorm to watch the newest episode of Scream Queens or stopping by your favorite pumpkin patch on a crisp afternoon, it is important to dress warm but don’t leave your style at the door. Looking chic is not too difficult, just remember less is sometimes more!
What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “The look was kind of a minimalistic Rick Owens-inspired look. When you’re putting together an outfit like that, you have to constantly check in the mirror to make sure that you’re maintaining that balance between too little and just enough. Coco Chanel said it best when she said, ‘Before you leave the house, look in the mirror and remove one accessory.'”
