It is so easy to succumb to cut-off shorts and a T-shirt during these ruthless summer months. But did you know that you will probably sweat more in your denim shorts and T-shirt? These garments stick to your body and don’t allow for any of that summer breeze to flow through them.
Solution? Slip into an airy maxi skirt or maxi dress. Besides making you feel like a regal princess with all that material swaying by your sides, maxis are more practical than a tight pair of high-waisted shorts if you want to stay cool.
I spotted this Fashionista breezing by on my way to class and couldn’t help but envy how relaxed she must have felt. Her maxi skirt gives off a great summer vibe with its tie-dye print and is a complete eye-catcher.
Her outfit isn’t too overwhelming because she kept it simple with a neutral crop top. It’s loose enough to keep the air circulating around her, but not too loose where it could take over her body with the already free-flowing skirt. I love the minor lace detail along the bottom of the top as it adds a feminine touch and lets some skin peek through.
This Fashionista opted out of accessories which I thought was a pretty good idea. Who wants to be dealing with a huge statement necklace clinging onto your neck or bracelets that just get in the way when you are trying to take notes in class? Keeping it simple and cool is the perfect way to go this summer!
