You could say I have always been a bit of a girly-girl. Growing up while the rest of my friends played sports outside I was more likely to be found doing my nails or experimenting with my mothers makeup. For as long as I can remember I have been infatuated with bows, lace and all things sparkly. So it is fair to say that when I saw these Fashionista’s shorts, the little girl in me fell in love.
Lace shorts are definitely a statement piece. Styling them can be a little tricky though. You have to be careful that you pair them with other clothing items that are not overly girly to avoid looking too young or “costumey.” The key is balancing out the femininity of the shorts with simple or more modern pieces.
This Fashionista found the perfect balance between girly and grunge. She paired her white lace shorts with a neutral loose fitting sweater. She added a statement necklace to add a pop of color and interest to her outfit. A simple gold charm bangle and beaded sandals complete the look. For a little touch of glam she chose a bold shade of lipstick that matched her necklace perfectly.
One of my favorite things about these shorts is versatility. Not only do they look adorable during they day but they also are perfect for night. Switch out the top for a simple T-shirt and a blazer for a sophisticated yet flirty look. Add a pair of strappy heels and you are ready for a night out on the town.
