Hello Fashionistas! Summer is coming to a close, and fall is on its way (did someone say pumpkin spice?)! If your summer was anything like mine, then it has been a busy season! I spent my summer months working, knocking out some summer classes and spending as much time with friends and family as possible. Now, the fall semester is in full swing with what seems to be an even busier schedule. With all the stresses of everyday life, transitioning your wardrobe can seem like the last thing you want to do.
Transitioning seasons can make it difficult to know what to wear–especially when you’re excited to throw on boots and a sweater because thats what fall is all about. But it’s still 80 degrees outside so we can’t fully dive into fall fashion just yet. There are a few simple tricks you can follow to make the transition seem a little less daunting. When transitioning into fall, it is important to strategically mix your fall and summer pieces. This, however, can get a little tricky. The first tip to keep in mind is to first start switching your colors to be more fall appropriate. So for example, even on hot days when you need to wear shorts and a tank top or a loose fitting dress, the outfit won’t scream summer. Second, start mixing in some fall pieces like light sweaters, booties and jeans. By mixing summer and fall pieces you can dress appropriately for the weather but still achieve the fall look you’re going for. With these two tips, making the transition will be easy.
This Fashionista’s outfit is perfect for the transition into fall. I stopped her on her way to meet a friend for lunch at a cute local cafe downtown. She takes a fun printed top and puts it with a great pair of rolled up, dark wash skinny jeans. These pieces are a perfect mix because they allow her to be covered up but cool as the temperature begins to drop. She added her go-to sandals which act as a fun accessory with their metallic color and sparkling long necklace. She keeps her makeup look clean and simple with foundation, mascara and lip gloss.
