The snow is beginning to melt away, and so is the abundance of heavy layers popular in a winter wardrobe. Spring air is wafting in through open windows, allowing for lighter, long sleeved layers. Though we aren’t quite free of winter, we can at least begin to consider shedding our heaviest layers.
Whether it’s in menswear or womenswear, leather makes for a great accenting texture. It adds a touch of sheen and edge to any article of clothing or accessory. This Fashionisto chose gunmetal gray jeans and a faux leather detailed sweater, all topped off with a leather jacket. His jacket is accented with a striped collar and bottom that give it a retro, varsity jacket feel, appropriate for his student style.
His look is paired with his Ray-Ban glasses and Nike sneakers, outfitted with a crackled gray and white pattern. His outfit has cooler tones with the darker blues, grays and black that flow from head to toe. It gets progressively lighter from his darkened glasses to his lighter shoes, bringing the whole outfit together.
Even when his top layer is removed, as the day gets warmer, the leather accent continues in his lighter layer as it is incorporated into his sweater. Leather is a versatile detail, for men and women that can be added to any look. It can give an outfit that extra edge and roughness or put a retro spin on a shirt and jeans.
