Flowers are blooming, the sun is out and days are longer. I think it’s safe to say that spring is finally here. Pack away your parkas and break out those shorts. It’s finally time to try out the slew of new spring trends that we have seen on runways all over the world.
Matching separates have been on trend since they first appeared on the runways of Gucci, Moschino and Emilio Pucci back in the spring of 2013. Although this charming trend went on hiatus over the winter, I am pleased to announce that it is back in full force.
This trend is often found in fun patterns such as stripes, polka-dots, geometric prints or florals. There is no better way to celebrate spring than with bold colors and patterns. Matching separates are also extremely versatile. They can be worn together or separate, creating double the outfits.
While on campus, I spotted this Fashionisto treating the sidewalk like a catwalk. He was enjoying the warm weather in a matching top and shorts set. The quaint pattern on the separates adds visual interest without being too overwhelming. He added a motorcycle jacket on top for a bit of added warmth. A tan, wide brim fedora and a pair of Converse completed his effortless look.
Whether you are feeling beachy, sophisticated, edgy or sporty, there is surely a matching set out there for you. These coordinating tops and bottoms will definitely keep you looking cool when the weather warms up.
What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Want a trend that is easy to wear, versatile and just plain fun? Give matching separates a try.”
