In the last few weeks, spring has made its worldly comeback in all things fashion. From street style in New York to Burberry trench coats in London, the trendsetting spring necessities are finally emerging. Just when we hoped the weather would turn in our favor, us Midwestern Fashionista/os are forced put a hold on the spring fever until the end of the cold spell.
I found this Fashionista coming home from her teaching assistant position on campus. She perfects the part in a patterned sweater and black, waxed jeans. The different textures in the pieces sharpen the ensemble and take it outside of the habitual office look. Her classic sweater set, however, still makes the outfit professional. A formal pair of jeans in lieu of slacks can make for a more comfortable wear for most work settings. To survive the countless inches of snow, this Fashionista makes her appearance in a Moncler coat and Tory Burch snow boots. She takes the remains of this season for the win, transforming a typical winter uniform to a masterpiece of her own style.
The phase between winter and spring can make it easy to fall into the habit of throwing on the same pair of leggings and sweatshirt every day. However, the Fashionista I spotted finds ways to make the most of this prolonged winter and gave me great pointers in making the same kind of outfit look different.
What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “It’s so important to look the part and still be comfortable! I like to interchange sweaters to change up my look. It’s also fun to add something like a cute necklace to add a statement.”
