Hello, summer! In Florida, Southerners love the nautical trend. I’m talking anchor emblems and all things beach related on clothing. If you live in the sunshine state or you’ve vacationed here, you’ll know what I mean. We’re all about sea life! There’s no better way to usher in the season of sunshine than by rocking anchors and stripes. Do you think you’re ready to try this summer trend?
When thinking of the nautical trend, I think of my hometown of Panama City Beach. The locals walk the streets in this look during the hot summer months. Many women wear loose fitting tops, shorts and sandals. They also tend to accessorize with anchor jewelry and straw fedoras. Men typically wear short sleeve button-downs, patterned shorts and boat shoes. The formula for this style is simple: red, white and stripes. Most of us don’t spend our days lounging on a deck of a yacht, but who says we can’t dress the part of a boating beauty?
One might ask his or herself how they can create a nautical-inspired look. Check out this Fashionisto’s take on casual weekend wear as he embraces all things nautical!  He wears a salmon, striped, short sleeve button-down on top. I love how he chose a light colored shirt for his ensemble, it goes great with his complexion. For bottoms, he has on a fun pair of shorts with a navy colored, lobster pattern. These are the trendiest pair of shorts and are perfect for creating the nautical trend look! He wears a brown leather belt around his waist that features an anchor on the belt buckle. For his kicks, he has a simple pair of gray, low top shoes. Recreate this Fashionisto’s look and you’ll be ready for a day of smooth sailing. Aye, aye captain!
What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Patterned shorts make a statement, which is something everyone should have in their wardrobe.”
